Nuestra Historia con Lele

Su nombre, que significa "bebé" en otomí, proviene de los arrullos que las madres usaban para dormir a sus hijos. Originalmente elaboradas con arcilla, palma y cabellos de maíz, se colocaban en tumbas infantiles para proteger a los niños fallecidos. Hoy en día, son muñecas de trapo, vestidas con trajes tradicionales otomíes de esta comunidad, que representan la identidad de las mujeres de la región y son una fuente de sustento para muchas familias.

En la actualidad, la muñeca Lele es un símbolo cultural de Santiago Mexquititlán y una representación de la identidad otomí, con sus coloridos vestidos y trenzas, aunque no sea muy conocida esta comunidad, es aquí donde mujeres indígenas en su mayoría, son quienes elaboran esta tierna artesanía que se está convirtiendo en símbolo cultural de México.

Nos encontramos en Santiago Mexquititlán Barrio 1 Amealco Querétaro, puedes visitarnos sábados o domingos, donde podrás adquirir tus Leles y hasta puedes estar en un taller donde te enseñaremos como hacer la tuya
